The papers comprise a commission, signed by President William McKinley, for Charles W. Hack as assistant surgeon of volunteers, 1901. Memos from R. Joel Tierney, a University of Minnesota attorney, regarding Mrs. Charles W. (Gwendolyn Kelley) Hack's bequest to the University of Minnesota are filed in Archives correspondence under Hack. A Zurah pin and an 1898 memorial coin given to men from the University who served in the Spanish American War are also included in the collection.
